Willamette River Paddle Trips
Willamette Riverkeeper’s River Discovery Program coordinates canoe and kayak paddle trips along the Willamette River from Eugene to Portland. In our view, this is the most powerful way to learn about the River, its history, and its ecology. In general, paddles take place rain or shine. However, they are subject to cancellation if we decide conditions on the river are unsafe. Paddle trips are led by staff and volunteers who provided education and safety support to participants.
Experience is required
You must have experience in a canoe or kayak to go on these trips. If you are interested in learning more about paddling instruction, we would be happy to direct you to local companies that provide that service.
Canoes & gear
You can paddle your own canoe or kayak on any trip for free. If you don't have your own boat, use of WRK's canoes and gear are available for WRK members on most trips (Membership starts at $35 per year.) Contact us about availability.
Registration is required, contact us today.

Willamette River Canoe Expedition for Youth |
|
Willamette Riverkeeper has partnered with the Great Outdoors Academy who will be offering a special Willamette River expedition for youth. The Great Outdoors Academy works with young people, creating opportunities for personal expression through writing and expeditionary learning.
This trip will include four exciting days of floating, exploration, photography and journaling our way down the river. The group will spend three nights camping along the riverbank, and as we go, focus on the importance of river-stewardship and water quality monitoring, as well as simply observing the fascinating wildlife and ecosystem of the mighty Willamette. Trip cost is $200.
